The VeganFest in Camaiore was a significant event for several reasons. The occasion that undoubtedly garnered the most attention from the national press took place on Monday, April 25, in the main hall of the beautiful Villa le Pianore.
We’re talking about the prestigious “VeganOK AWARD,” which, in its first edition, was presented to Red Canzian, a Vegan artist and a great friend who participated in VeganFest with genuine enthusiasm.
Red expressed his pride in receiving an award that, for the first time, went beyond his recognized artistic talents, favoring the more intimate ethical aspects of his persona:
The emotion in the room (including Red’s) was palpable, and it was a general enrichment that none of the attendees would easily forget.
The VeganOK AWARD was created (and presented to Red) by Federica Lucchesi, the artist known for designing the sets for the musical “Daddy Cool.”
A distinctive feature of the award is its construction from recycled materials (papier-mâché made with newspaper glued with water and flour).
Here are some images from this special day:

Red Canzian, while entertaining the audience, showed an approachability and sensitivity that everyone appreciated.

As great friends, Renata Balducci and Red Canzian remained available after the award ceremony to sign copies of “Nobili Scorpacciate Vegan,” the first book to utilize the VeganOK certification, where Red wrote the foreword.
