“The China Study” has been awarded the prestigious “VeganOK Scientific Award 2012,” presented by Renata Balducci, President of the Italian Vegan Association (www.assovegan.it).
The China Study is universally recognized as the most comprehensive epidemiological study ever conducted. Within the Vegan world, it is particularly valued as it is a study carried out exclusively on human populations without involving animals in unnecessary experimentation. The study is also featured in the namesake bestseller “The China Study,” which, unfortunately, includes additional parts that consider and incorporate animal experimentation as a reliable source. For us, this has little to do with actual science and ethics in general.
However, returning to the epidemiological study and not the book, the main architect of this research is Dr. T. Colin Campbell, who began his European lecture tour in Vicenza on September 21, 2012. The presence of Dr. T. Colin Campbell in Italy was a unique event in terms of importance and scientific level.

On September 21, 2012, Dr. T. Colin Campbell received the prestigious “VeganOK Scientific Award 2012” awarded to “The China Study” research with the motivation: “To The China Study. An epidemiological study on human populations that has shown how a completely plant-based diet is the closest to human nutritional needs and remains a fundamental element for living a life in complete health. Dr. T. Colin Campbell receives the award.”
Dr T. Colin Campbell was pleased with the news of the award, commenting:

Yes, the words ‘vegan’ and ‘vegetarian’ tend to have their own meanings for many people and I do not disagree with others having those opinions. Indeed, I mostly agree with much of their propositions. My own position is based on science, as you know, but over the years as I have become fascinated with what this idea means to people, I also learn from those with somewhat different positions. So, in short, I am pleased to support the ‘V’ movement as long as I can bring to this movement the scientific basis for it.

The “VeganOK Scientific Award 2012” was presented to Dr. T. Colin Campbell by the President of the Italian Vegan Association (Associazione Vegani Italiani), Renata Balducci. Balducci is the author of the Vegan recipe book series “Nobili Scorpacciate Vegan” , published by Quantic Publishing. She also took on the role of speaker on the same stage as Dr. Campbell and explained to the audience how to practice a Vegan and healthy diet in everyday life.
“Our dietary choices have an incredible impact not only on our metabolism but also on the initiation, promotion, and even regression of disease, our energy and physical activity, our emotional and mental well-being, and the environment we live in. All these seemingly separate spheres are intimately interconnected” (T. Colin Campbell).
